WEB DIGGINGS
The Web is a great place to find all sorts of things. Here's an interesting fact I dug up the other day while doing a little web surfing: Cream of Tartar is derived from argol, a crude tartar sediment deposited on the sides of casks during winemaking. McCormick & Company® (the big spice company) obtains its supply of Cream of Tartar from Italy. Apparently, tiny people crawl through the tiny holes in empty wine casks after the wine has been drained and scrape out the argol residue. Yikes, I'll never use Cream of Tartar again without feeling sorry for the people who have THAT job!

Here are some links we've compiled that we thought our readers might like. There are links for readers, writers, artists, and just some general links that we like. If you think a particular link should be listed, or would like to submit your own site for consideration, let Roger know at roger@gravediggings.com.

General Horror Links

*The Cryptid Zoo* - Cryptozoology is the study of animals and other creatures that haven't been accepted by science as real; at least, not yet! Really cool (and scary) information, not enough pictures! :)

*Spirit Hunt* - A bit hard to navigate, and the site doesn't seem to have been updated in awhile, but the ghost pictures are great! We print them out and argue their authenticity over the dinner table.

*Rutgers Rarities* - Yikes! This site gives even Roger the creeps!

*Spook Spotters Web Cams* - Twenty WebCams of haunted places. Even if you don't actually see a ghost, the places themselves are scary enough. Why is it that ghosts pick such creepy places to haunt? I've never seen a ghost hanging out at McDonald's or in the produce section of the grocery store. Or maybe I have...

*Buried.com* - Everything that is horror....Awesome site.

*Adopt A Demon* - Everone needs a pet demon! Here's Kath's: Cuddles His name is Cuddles :)

Horror Writing Links

*Horror Writers Association* - Kath says the day she's eligible to join HWA, she's buyin' drinks for everyone! (I'll post when it happens and we'll hold her to her word!)

*Dark Markets* - An online market guide for horror writers.

*The International Horror Guild* - The Best of the Best.

*Twisted Fiction* - Tools and ideas to help you publish and promote your work.

*The Monster Club* - A great monster reference site!

Horror Reading Links

*DearReader Horror Preview Club* - Free Previews of new horror novels - AWESOME!

*Horror Reader* - "Scaring ourselves since 2005".

*Tabula Rasa* - A history of horror.

*Visions of Terror* - Horror book reviews.

*Gothic.net* - "Bone Chilling Literary Culture".

Horror Art Links

*The Art of Duncan Long* - Wow! A must-see site.

*The Apocalypsis of Ralph Manfreda* - I would hope that most people won't let their children look at the art on these sites, but this one deserves a special warning. These pics are graphic, disturbing, and brilliant.

*Resurrection Studios/Billy Tackett* - Art with a bite!

*Art Grotesque* - Disturbing.

*Horror Art Gallery* - A collection of horror art from various artists. I especially like *Guy Gentry's horror gallery*.

Mélange

Every website should have a place to put links that have nothing to do with anything, but are interesting, bizarre, or just plain fun. This is our home for hodgepodge, and with each link, we'll explain who picked it and why.

LINK: *Bum Wines*:
PICKED BY: Roger
WHY: So Kath has a website on wine where she reviews different wines and regions and wineries, and helps people pick the right wine and all that, and while she was researching today she came across this site on bum wines - meaning the wines that bums like to drink. Turns out that MD20/20 and Thunderbird are direct relatives of Port and Sherry, which is what Kath was writing about today. I told her to link her nice little wine site to Bum Wines, and she got kinda mad, so I'm listing it here instead! The site talks about different kinds of bum wines, and it was a blast to read! So grab your bottle of Night Train, and settle in for some educational reading on what you're pouring down your gullet!

LINK: *Museum of Bad Art*:
PICKED BY: Kath
WHY: I'm not an art freak, but I don't hate it. Most of the time. Occasionally, something will come along to make me hate it, and this site's got it. Most of the site is pretty funny, with some works that make you wonder about the age (and sanity) of the artist. The work that I'll be dreaming of tonight (and probably wake up screaming from) is titled *Jerez the Clown*. Yes, I'm a closet clown-hater, mostly because I'm scared of them. I know it's stupid, and maybe it has something to do with watching "Killer Klowns from Outer Space" one too many times. I'd love to write a horror story about clowns, and just get it all out of my system, but it's been done to death; I'm not the only one with clown issues, apparently. . .
